MBM is N,N-Methylenebismorpholine. 

It is a formaldehyde-releaser.The biocidal activity of Methylenebismorpholine is due to the interaction of the released formaldehyde with protein, DNA and RNA. The interaction with protein results from a combination with the primary amide and the amino groups. It reacts with carboxyl, sulfhydryl and hydroxyl groups.

MBM is a new generation of broad-spectrum, low-toxicity biocide developed for water-based metalworking fluids. The product has good solubility and is suitable for oil-based and water-based systems. In addition to the bactericidal effect, the product also has a certain anti-rust effect on ferrous metals.

MBM is effective against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.

Applications

BE MBM is a biocide widely used in metalworking fluids.

Can be added to concentration, but is not recommended for on-site maintenance;

BE MBM has been successfully used as a biocide in water-based MWF and fuel. BE MBM is more stable in concentrates than BE BK, which is particularly stable and long-lasting in concentration, with a half-life of up to 5-8 months; BE MBM has a low total formaldehyde content and is minimally irritating to the skin.

The amount of MBM added to the formula is 2.0-3.0%;
